The 26-year-old pop star debuted her shocking hair transformation via Instagram on Thursday (Feb. 1), showing off bright blonde locks ahead of her upcoming new era in a self-filmed video. In addition to sharing the video, Cabello also changed her profile picture on Instagram to a blurry photo of her as a blonde. The night-to-day hair change comes about a month after the former Fifth Harmony member hinted at plans to release new music in 2024. A couple of days before New Year’s, she wrote on Instagram Stories that 2023 had been “mostly the year of this” over a picture of her seemingly recording vocals in front of a microphone setup. “see you next year b-tches,” she added at the time, along with a mouth-zipped-shut emoji. Plus, on Wednesday, Cabello shared a carousel of photos from a recording studio, featuring her posing in front of a soundboard. “is it butterflies or acid reflux ?” she mused in the caption. Cabello hasn’t dropped an album since April 2022’s Familia , which hit No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and featured the singles “Don’t Go Yet” and “Bam Bam” with Ed Sheeran.
